Working on energised electrical equipment is common throughout many industries.
Numerous workers are injured or killed each year working on energised equipment due to arc flash, which is an extremely dangerous phenomenon.
This course is suitable for anyone working in the vicinity of commercial and industrial electrical equipment, for example, electricians and trade assistants working on energised equipment.
It is also applicable to anyone that supervises, manages or is a PCBU where this type of work is carried out; or anyone curious about arc flash and associated hazards.
Course Content:
- A brief refresher as to Hazards and Risks.
- What is Arc Flash, Arc Plasma and other associated hazards? Why is it a concern?
- When and where can it occur? Including examples from common activities or situations.
- Incident energy and heat flux.
- Hazard management including the Hierarchy of Controls, with a final focus on PPE Categories.
Entry Requirements:
To successfully complete this course, you will need to have proficiency in reading and typing in English, as well as basic computer skills.
This course is fully online so you will need to have access to a computer, tablet or phone and have an email address to complete your registration.
